Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best well-known for her character of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won the Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was the only child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a senior executive from the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with 4 brothers. Though she had a aspiration to become journalist, it was not until high school when Delaney started modeling. When she moved away from New York City and gaining an experience working as a commercial model in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Her first film role was as a teen innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Delaney is an acclaimed actress, appearing involved in numerous TV movies, and dramas. The way she lives her life, unlike her professional has not been a success and has not been happy. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism in the past and had two failed marriages. In 2005, she lost custody over her only son.
