Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October 21st, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP on the Dreamville Records label. This was when she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. The song Sweat it featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then was interested in having her create Rihanna reference. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. On the record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October of 2016, she released her first EP Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video that was released on September 5. In November, she released her singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single in February 2019 for her debut album of the same title. In February the video music for this track debuted. The song has received more than three million YouTube views in just a single week. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
